Maple Leafs recall Bibeau, Reimer day-to-day

William Nylander scored in his NHL preseason debut and Jonathan Bernier and Antoine Bibeau combined to shut out the Philadelphia Flyers as the Toronto Maple Leafs won 4-0 in preseason action.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled goaltender Antoine Bibeau from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, and have reassigned forward Rich Clune to the AHL.

The move comes as starting goalie James Reimer is listed as day-to-day with an injury.

Bibeau was the Leafs’ sixth round pick in 2013. In 10 games with the Marlies, the 21-year-old has a 6-3 record with a 3.64 goals-against average and a .869 save percentage this season.

Clune had played in just two games with the Leafs and was a minus-one.

The move leaves both of the Marlies opening day goalies now on the Leafs roster, with Jonathan Bernier still with the Marlies for a conditioning stint.
