Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman has been suspended two games without pay for interference against Boston Bruins‘ defenceman Charlie McAvoy.

Hyman was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct following a high hit on McAvoy during the third period. The 26-year-old had a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Sunday to determine an appropriate punishment.
Zach Hyman's late hit on Charlie McAvoy rose to the level of a two-game suspension because of the "force of the hit and the predatory nature of the hit itself," according to @NHLPlayerSafety video ruling.
Hyman forfeits $24,193.55 in salary.

The winger has seven goals and eight assists in 30 games played this season.
