Nathan Beaulieu leaves game with lower-body injury, will not return

Prior to puck drop at the Bell Centre, the Habs and Bruins paid tribute to Boston Pride’s Denna Laing. Laing suffered a severe spinal cord injury during the Outdoor Women’s Classic in December.

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Nathan Beaulieu has left Tuesday night’s game against the Boston Bruins with an lower-body injury and will not return.

Beaulieu played 4:43 in the first period and went out for warmups before the second to see if he could play further.

If Beaulieu has to miss any games in the future, it should open the door for newly acquired Victor Bartley to debut for the Canadiens.

Bartley was acquired as part of a deal that sent Jarred Tinordi to the Arizona Coyotes.
