NHL all-star voting process to change next season

John Scott was all smiles talking about being invited to the All-star Game thanks to the fan vote, saying that the responses has been all positive and that some players are even interested in his participation.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the NHL will explore other options when it comes to the fan vote for the all-star game.

Possibilities include fans getting just a portion of the vote for captains or a list prescribed by the league that fans can choose from. Speculation is that the voting in of enforcer John Scott prompted the NHL to re-evaluate the voting process.

Scott was the top vote-getter after an online surge from fans. Scott says he will attend the game.

Friedman also noted that while there will be a meeting within the executive committee about NHL expansion on all-star weekend, there will not be a vote to determine anything further.
