Most partnership announcements between two major brands are pretty yawn-inducing. But not when they come packaged with three-and-a-half minutes of mesmerizing hockey candy.
The National Hockey League, its Players’ Association and GoPro, masters of the first-person point-of-view camera, announced their plan to give fans live GoPro footage, starting with this weekend’s All-Star Game in Columbus.
“The use of GoPro cameras will give fans a new perspective of the extraordinary speed and skill of today’s NHL players,” said NHLPA rep Mathieu Schneider in a press release. “We are excited to have GoPro working with us and the NHL to show the great athleticism of our players.”
Which is a formal way of saying, “This is going to be sick.”
