The Edmonton Oilers will be without yet another star player for their upcoming slate of games, as defenceman Adam Larsson is set to be placed on injured reserve, the club announced Friday.

Edmonton is already trying to make due with starting netminder Cam Talbot out of the mix, as the goaltender was placed on injured reserve on Thursday.

Veteran defenceman Andrej Sekera remains out as well as he recovers from knee surgery, though the top-pairing rearguard has started skating and is nearing a return.

Larsson has four points through 25 games this season, and ranks second among all Oilers skaters with an average ice-time of 22:30 minutes per game.
