Oilers head coach Todd McLellan talks about what Darnell Nurse has to work on in the AHL to merit an NHL return.

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Darnell Nurse from the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League.

Nurse has one assist in six games with the Condors this season. The 20-year-old was a first-round (7th overall) selection in the 2013 NHL Draft. Nurse played in two games with the Oilers in 2014-15 before he was returned to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League.

The Oilers also placed defenceman Griffin Reinhart on injured reserve Monday.
