The Katz Group, owners of the Edmonton Oilers, have called a news conference for Friday and it’s speculated Bob Nicholson will be named vice-chairman of the organization.
No one will confirm, but looks like Bob Nicholson's retirement will last 13 days. Katz Group to announce Nicholson in Sr management role.

Katz Group — run by Oilers owner Daryl Katz — is holding a media conference tomorrow in Edmonton. It will reveal Bob Nicholson's future.

The expected announcement will take place at 10 a.m. MST.
Nicholson was president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada for the past 16 years. He stepped down on May 31.
Canadian teams have won 44 gold at world championships, Olympics and World Cups on Nicholson’s watch.
