OOPS! Flames prospect accidentally clotheslines kid before an OHL game

Poor Hunter Smith. And poor kid! Minor hockey players go out for warmups with bigger teams like this all the time. I’m surprised accidents like this one with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals don’t happen more often. Hunter “Big Rig” Smith, the Generals player who the child was accidentally taken down by, is a 6’6″, 210 lbs prospect of the Calgary Flames. I’m not sure how big the kid is (I don’t have their hockey card in my collection yet) but as you can see, the size difference is pretty considerable. Luckily the little guy got up and appeared to be fine. This happens to the pros, too. Remember this one between Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf and Mike Komisarek from a few years ago? It might be worth mentioning Hunter Smith is taller than both Komisarek and Phaneuf.

Then there’s Sergei Bobrovsky’s little mishap here.

And not even officials are safe.
