The Nashville Predators are interested in Buffalo Sabres forward Chris Stewart according to a report by Elliotte Friedman during the Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday.
“Chris Stewart, his name has been out a lot from Buffalo. Calgary is a team that’s been linked to him for quite a bit,” Friedman said. “Another team that we’re hearing that might be interested in Chris Stewart is the Nashville Predators.”
Stewart has long been involved in rumours this year, but the price for the 27-year-old can’t be very high. Since being traded to Buffalo in February last year Stewart has just five goals and 14 points in 49 games, with a minus-23 rating and an average time on ice of 14:46.
The Toronto, Ont. native is in the last year of his contract that sees him make $4.2 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent in the off-season.
