The Nashville Predators clinched a playoff spot on Saturday afternoon, but did it without captain Shea Weber.
The defenceman is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to Stephen Whyno of The Canadian Press.
Nashville beat Washington 4-3 and are also vying for the top spot in the Western Conference. The Predators currently lead the Central division with a record of 47-21-8 and have won their last four straight.
Weber has had another impressive season for Nashville, collecting 15 goals and 30 assists in 75 games.
Should Weber’s injury keep him out for the weekend, it would be a big boost for the Calgary Flames, who are in Nashville on Sunday. The Flames are on the outside looking in right now in the Western Conference wild-card race with 87 points.
