The Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning aren’t known for their feistiness, but their opening-round series has been chippy.

Friday’s Game 2 saw the teams combine for 119 penalty minutes. Of the 27 total penalties assessed, 14 were handed out during a melee near the Lightning net with less than one minute remaining in the third period.

Justin Abdelkader was the most animated player involved in the fracas. The Red Wings forward lost his temper and bloodied up Lightning winger Mike Blunden with damaging ground-and-pound punches that Mark “The Hammer” Coleman could be proud of.

Abdelkader was given a fighting major and game misconduct for wailing on Blunden, but does he deserve even more punishment? Watch the video above and have your say below.
