According to Kevin Oklobzija of the Democrat & Chronicle, Pysyk, 23, was alert and his vital signs were close to normal when he was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by paramedics.

In the early evening, the Americans updated Pysyk’s condition, saying he had been released from hospital and was doing well.

The rink of the Rochester Americans had been transformed to a basketball court for a Rochester Razorsharks game at 1 p.m. The Americans were not practicing Saturday, although the team met for a workout and breakfast.

Pysyk played in two games this week for Buffalo and in seven NHL games this season, recording two goals and an assist.

A first-round selection in the 2010 NHL Draft, Pysyk has put together an impressive season for Rochester with 16 points in 51 games.

The Sherwood Park, Alta., native is a former captain of the Edmonton Oil Kings, where he led them to the Memorial Cup in 2012.
