Report: Sabres’ Alex Nylander could make NHL debut against Leafs

William Nylander continues his recent success with his 15th point in the month of March, with this wicked wrister.

There could be more than one Nylander on the ice at KeyBank Center on Monday.

According to John Vogl of The Buffalo News, Sabres forward Alex Nylander could make his NHL debut against brother William on Monday night during Buffalo’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Alex Nylander, 19, was the Sabres’ first-round pick (No. 8 overall) in last year’s draft and has amassed nine goals and 18 assists in the AHL playing for Buffalo’s affiliate Rochester Americans. He did not dress for their game on Sunday due to the expected callup.

William Nylander, 20, has been making headlines of late after picking up his second rookie of the month title of the year. Drafted in 2014, also eighth overall, the elder Nylander is sitting in third in rookie scoring with 59 points, tied with fellow Leaf Mitch Marner.
