Sabres’ Benoit Pouliot avoids suspension for hit on Panthers’ Yandle

Watch as Robin Lehner bails his team out after a brutal giveaway and then also dives back to deny the Florida Panthers a goal.

Buffalo Sabres forward Benoit Pouliot will not be suspended for his hit on Florida Panthers defenceman Keith Yandle, the league’s department of player safety announced Saturday.

Pouliot had a hearing Saturday morning to review the hit that caught Yandle up high behind the Panthers’ net late in the third period of a 4-1 Florida win.

Yandle didn’t not appear to be injured on the play. The hit popped his helmet off his head but he never went down to the ice and remained in the game.
