Sabres forward Jack Eichel to throw out first pitch at Buffalo Bisons game

Jack Eichel had two goals verse the Leafs, as Buffalo played spoiler taking two points away from Toronto with 5-2 win.

Fresh off helping the Buffalo Sabres act as a spoiler to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Jack Eichel has signed up to help another Toronto franchise.

Sort of.

Eichel will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on opening day for the Buffalo Bisons, who just happen to be the triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The North Chelmsford, Mass., native scored two goals and added an assist in the Sabres’ 5-2 win over the Leafs this past Saturday.

He’s no stranger to first pitches, having assumed such duties with Connor McDavid at Marlins Park in Miami in 2015. They joined a group of prospects promoting the 2015 NHL Draft in which Eichel was selected second overall, following McDavid.

Eichel will take to the mound at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo on April 6, when the Bisons face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
