Sabres, Senators complete minor-league trade

Damien Cox and Elliotte Friedman recap a busy Saturday as teams have begun making trades ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline.

Amid the flurry of trades happening ahead of the deadline, the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres completed a multi-player, minor-league deal Saturday.

The Sabres acquired Alex Guptill, Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, and defenceman Michael Sdao from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forwards Jason Akeson and Phil Varone and defenceman Jerome Leduc. A conditional pick is also headed to the Senators.

You may recognize the name Cole Schneider as the player who was robbed of a goal in one of the most improbable saves of the year in the AHL.
