Ottawa Senators forward Bobby Ryan left Wednesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres with a lower-body injury.
The injury occurred early in the first period, when Jack Eichel sent Jean-Gabriel Pageau flying with a huge open-ice hit, taking out Ryan in the process. Ryan headed to the dressing room but would return before being ruled out by the team for the remainder of the game.
Pageau did not appear to be injured on the play.
Ryan, 31, has been limited to 59 games due to various ailments this season, after playing in just 62 contest last season with the Senators.
