Shane Doan passes Dale Hawerchuk to become franchise scoring leader

Shane Doan spoke to Roger Millions after becoming the all-time franchise leader in points for the Jets/Coyotes.

At this point in Shane Doan‘s career, everything is bonus fries.

The 20-year veteran and captain of the Arizona Coyotes added another accomplishment to his impressive career when he surpassed Dale Hawerchuk for most points in franchise history with 931. Doan scored two goals and added an assist in the Coyotes’ 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames.

“It’s a huge honour, I’m a huge Dale Hawerchuk fan,” Doan said after the game.

And speaking of bonuses, Doan’s power play goal in the third period again pushed him ahead of Hawerchuk for the franchise record with 123 extra-man markers.

The 39-year-old Doan has a remarkable 21 goals in 45 games this season.
