Vadim Shipachyov will report to the AHL while his agent continues to seek a trade from the Vegas Golden Knights, reports Eric Engels.
Shipachyov, 30, was assigned to AHL Chicago on Tuesday for the second time this season. He came over to the NHL for the first time this season after finishing third in the KHL in points with 76 last year.
The Golden Knights signed him to a two-year, $9 million contract in May with the intention to make him their No. 1 centre. But a surplus of contracts have made it difficult for Shipachyov to get into the lineup. He had one goal in three games with the Golden Knights.
