It appears that former Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli has found his next job.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Oilers are expected to announce the hiring of Chiarelli at a media conference on Friday.
Chiarelli met with the Oilers’ brass earlier in the week, according to a report from Friedman and Sportsnet’s Mark Spector. The team is in the midst of reshuffling its hockey operations department, appointing Bob Nicholson to CEO earlier this month.
Chiarelli became available after he was fired by the Bruins on Apr. 15. He left Boston with a record of 386-233-85, leading the Bruins to a Stanley Cup championship in 2011.
