Stars, Blackhawks flip first-round picks at NHL Draft

Jake Oettinger joins Tara Slone to talk about being the first goaltender selected in the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Dallas Stars have acquired the 26th-overall pick in the NHL Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks, in exchange for the 29th-overall pick and a third-round pick (70th overall).

Dallas took goaltender Jake Oettinger with the pick.

The 18-year-old had a 2.11 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 35 games with Boston University this past season.

The Blackhawks, eventually — they allowed Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to announce the pick — drafted defenceman Henri Jokiharju with the 29th pick.

Jokiharju had nine goals and 48 points in 71 games with the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks this past season.
