The Edmonton Oilers announced Sunday that Taylor Hall was returning to Edmonton to undergo further testing on his injured left ankle.

Hall had just returned to the Oilers lineup on Monday, and what started with a bang, ended with a whimper.

Hall picked up an assist on the Oilers’ opening goal in the first period against the San Jose Sharks, but left midway through the second after reaggravating his ankle injury.

The 23-year-old originally sustained the injury in practice after taking a puck off his leg in late January. He missed three games as a result.

Hall has 11 goals and 30 points in 42 games with the Oilers this season. He previously missed two weeks this season with an MCL sprain.
