No supplemental discipline expected from Tkachuk’s slew foot

Matthew Tkachuk dropped Martin Marincin with a slewfoot to end the Flames' loss to the Maple Leafs.

The NHL Department of Player Safety reportedly will not discipline Matthew Tkachuk after a slew foot on Toronto’s Martin Marincin at the end of the third period of Monday night’s game.

The Calgary Flames forward got tangled up with the Maple Leafs defenceman in front of the Toronto net and appeared to get his foot in between Marincin’s legs while also giving a cross-check.

Tkachuk, a 19-year-old rookie, was assessed a minor penalty for roughing on the play. He has the second most penalty minutes in the NHL this season with 92 behind only Antoine Roussel of the Dallas Stars, who has 98.

Toronto won the game 4-0.
