Leafs loan Booth to Marlies for conditioning stint

The Toronto Maple Leafs are loaning forward David Booth to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League for conditioning stint, the team announced Friday.

Booth broke his foot after blocking a shot in the pre-season and hasn’t suited up for any regular-season action in 2014-15.

The 29-year-old is expected to join the Marlies Friday for their game against the Hamilton Bulldogs and also play in the team’s Sunday game–also against the Bulldogs.

“If everything goes well in the two games [with the Marlies] he will be back with our hockey club early next week and a possibility to join us in Pittsburgh [Wednesday],” Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle told reporters in Toronto Friday.

Booth, who signed with the Leafs as an unrestricted free agent in the summer, has 113 goals, 105 assists in 443 career NHL games.
