Twitter reaction: Connor McDavid scores his first NHL goal

Connor McDavid scored the first goal of his NHL career on a tip-in against Kari Lehtonen. His first goal came in his third game - just as long as it took Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby to score their first goals.

Connor McDavid can finally take the monkey off his back. The Edmonton Oilers rookie notched his first career NHL goal Tuesday against the Dallas Stars.

It wasn’t the flashiest goal — in fact, it might end up being the most terrifically unflashy goal he ever scores in the NHL — but they all look the same on the game sheet.

McDavid, who has been under tremendous pressure since being selected first overall in the 2015 NHL Draft, admitted it’s nice to get the first one behind him.

Here are some tweets reacting to McDavid’s first of what we assume will be many NHL goals.
