New York Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski was knocked out cold on a hit by Nashville Predators forward Eric Nystrom Thursday.
Grabovski, who was hit has he played the puck in the Islanders’ zone midway through the first period, was motionless on the ice and a stretcher was brought out before he was able to skate off the ice on his own.
Nystrom did not receive a penalty on the play as it didn’t appear he targeted Grabovski’s head, leave his feet or use an elbow. and and Grabovski has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
This isn’t the first time Grabovski has been rocked on a hit this season. In October, Grabovski was forced to leave a game after being on the receiving end of a scary hit from John Scott of the San Jose Sharks.
