The Winnipeg Jets have signed Connor Hellebuyck to a one-year, $2.25-million deal, the team announced Monday.
The 24-year-old goaltender went 26-19-4 with a 2.89 goals-against average, .907 save percentage and four shutouts in 56 games for the Jets this past season. According to the team, he played the most of any goaltender 23 and younger.
His playing time could be reduced next season, however, thanks to the addition of veteran Steve Mason to the roster. The Jets signed the 29-year-old to a two-year, $8.2-million contract on July 1.
