If you were watching Saturday’s matinee matchup between the New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers, you probably saw the scary encounter between Zack Kassian‘s skate and Jimmy Vesey‘s face. (If you didn’t, you can watch the play at the top of this post.)
Thankfully, Vesey was OK and was able to skate off the ice with a bloody lip. We later learned that he lost a few teeth in the collision, too.
Turns out, they found them in his lip.
Yes, that’s a tooth you see lodged firmly in his bottom lip.
Actually, according to Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault, there are two teeth in there:
“He’s got a couple teeth right now in his lip … they’re going to find a way to take them out,” Vigneault said during his post-game press conference. “Hockey will be hockey, eh?”
