First, an anecdote.
The 6-foot-9, 250-pound presence named Zdeno Chara was strolling down a hallway adjacent to the Hockey Night in Canada studio this past September, on his way to fulfill some media obligations.
He passed a grown man, a stranger, who just had to ask him something.
“Mr. Chara. Have you ever broken a guy’s leg with your slap shot?” the man piped.
The Boston Bruins captain glanced back, straight-faced, stared his questioner dead in the eye, and replied: “Yes.”
Then turned and kept walking.
It was awesome. Chara answered the same way James Bond might answer the question “Hey, Mr. Bond, have you ever had to take a man’s life?”*
Anyway, it is this same Chara that Montreal Canadiens fans are asked to hug if they want a free Big Mac.
Check this fun commercial by the same fast-food giant that, last season, tricked Bruins fans into enjoying a meat sandwich named after Max Pacioretty.
*Note: The off-ice Chara is anything but a stone-cold villain. He’s a touchy-feely Massachusetts real-estate agent who just welcomed twin boys, Ben and Zack, into his family.
