With Alexander Steen recovering from off-season shoulder surgery, Team Sweden announced that 23-year-old Anaheim Ducks forward Rickard Rakell will replace him on their World Cup roster.

Rakell is coming off his second full season in the NHL. He scored 20 goals and 43 points in 72 games last season, up from the nine goals and 31 points he scored in his rookie season.

A native of Sundbyberg, Sweden, Rakell is the sixth member of the Ducks who will compete in the World Cup. Ryan Getzlaf (Canada), Ryan Kesler (USA), John Gibson (North America), Sami Vatanen (Finland) and Jakob Silfverberg (Sweden) are the others.

The World Cup of Hockey begins Sept. 17 and runs through Oct. 1 in Toronto.
