Brock Lesnar has been officially suspended for one year and fined $250,000 for his UFC 200 failed drug tests, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced at a hearing Thursday.

Lesnar’s July 9 unanimous decision victory over Mark Hunt has been changed to a “no contest.”

The $250,000 fine–which was part of a settlement with Nevada’s attorney general office–amounts to 10 per cent of the $2.5-million guaranteed purse (a UFC record at the time) Lesnar made for the Hunt fight.

The former UFC heavyweight champion was notified on July 15 of a potential violation of the UFC’s anti-doping policy from an out-of-competition drug test administered on June 28. Despite failing a pre-fight test, Lesnar was allowed to compete at UFC 200 because the test results had not come back yet. On July 19, it was revealed Lesnar also failed his fight night drug screening.

Lesnar, 39, tested positive for Hydroxy-clomiphene, an anti-estrogenic agent, on both of his failed tests. He would be eligible to return to competition in July 2017 should he decide to compete in mixed martial arts again.

His suspension is the same length as the one-year ban Jon Jones received for failing a UFC 200 drug test. Jones also popped for anti-estrogenic agents.
