Minden to host Pan-Am slalom canoe, kayak

MINDEN HILLS, Ont. — The Pan American Games debut of slalom canoe/kayak will be held at the Minden Wild Water Preserve next summer.

The competition is scheduled for July 18-19, Toronto 2015 organizers said Friday.

Athletes will try to navigate a course of hanging gates on river rapids in the fastest time possible. The sport has been part of the Olympic program since the 1992 Barcelona Games.

Tickets will range from $20-$35 and will be available to the public starting Sept. 15.
