Minnesota Wild defenceman Jonas Brodin exited in the third period of Tuesday’s 4-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks with a lower-body injury and did not return.
Brodin suffered the injury after he was thrown to the ice by Alex Killorn behind the play, and appeared to have his right leg bend awkwardly as he fell.
The Wild defenceman headed straight to the team’s locker room without putting any weight on his right leg.
Wild head coach John Hynes told reporters he had no update on Brodin’s status after the game.
Brodin had two penalty minutes and was a plus-1 in 16:30 of ice time before being forced to leave.
The 30-year-old blueliner has seven goals and 16 assists in 50 games this season.
With the win and a Vegas Golden Knights loss on Tuesday, the Wild now sit just three points out of the final wild-card sport in the Western Conference.
