Three Canadians reach slopestyle ski final

KRASNAYA POLAYNA, Russia — Canadian Dara Howell sits first after the qualifying round of women’s skiing slopestyle at the Sochi Olympics on Tuesday.

Howell, from Hunstville, Ont., scored 88.8 points in her opening run.

Quebec City’s Kim Lamarre was second with 85.4 points in her first go down the course.

Britain’s Katie Summerhayes was third with 84.00 points.

Vancouver’s Yuki Tsubota placed fourth with 81 points.

Montreal’s Kaya Turski had her Olympic dreams dashed after taking spills in both her qualifying runs

The final starts at 4 a.m. Eastern time.
