PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain has completed the transfer of David Luiz from Chelsea, with the Brazil international signing a five-year deal with the French champions.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but it will reportedly make Luiz the world’s most expensive defender.
Chelsea and PSG both announced the deal last month but the move could not be completed until the start of the transfer window on June 10.
British media reported that the transfer fee would reach between 40 million pounds ($67 million) and 50 million pounds ($84 million), which would be a record for a defender.
PSG paid a reported 42 million euros in 2012 for Thiago Silva, who is now expected to play for the club with his Brazil teammate in central defence.
