Toronto FC forward Jozy Altidore could miss the team’s opening game of the 2016 MLS season due to an injured hamstring, according to head coach Greg Vanney.
Altidore was diagnosed with tightness in his hamstring and was forced to miss TFC’s 1-1 draw against the Montreal Impact in pre-season action on Wednesday.
The Reds will face last year’s Supporters’ Shield winners, the New York Red Bulls, on the road on March 6 to open their campaign.
