Although wins on the court have been few and far between for Canadian tennis player Genie Bouchard, she remains a champion off it.

Bouchard joins gymnast Aly Raisman, Paralympic snowboarder Brenna Huckaby, golfer Paige Spiranac and fellow tennis star Sloane Stephens as one of five athletes who modelled for Sports Illustrated’s 2018 swimsuit cover.

This is the second straight year the Montreal native has landed in SI’s annual swimsuit edition.

Despite a 13-21 record last year – the worst mark since her winless five-tournament professional debut in 2008 – Bouchard has managed to keep herself in the spotlight thanks to endeavours such as this one.

Just recently, Bouchard made headlines by going on a Super Bowl LII date with John Goehrke, the random Twitter guy who asked her out during Super Bowl LI.

The 23-year-old was ranked as high as No. 5 in the world during her breakthrough 2014 campaign when she reached the Wimbledon final. Right now she’s ranked 113th in the world, kicking off her 2018 season with a 3-3 record through three tournaments including a first-round victory at the Australian Open.

She still has a long way to go to get back to that 2014 form, but she’s at least off to a better start than last year.

For now, it looks like she’ll continue to build her off-court brand, something her father appears to approve of.
