QUEBEC — Oceane Dodin of France has her first career WTA singles title.

The 19-year-old Dodin beat American qualifier Lauren Davis 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday to win the National Bank Cup.

Dodin took the match on Laval University’s campus in one hour 38 minutes. She could have put it away sooner after being up a set while holding a 3-0 lead in the second.

"In the second set, I scared myself. I had a lot of chances to get a big lead and go up 4-0 and 5-2, but my nerves got the best of me," Dodin said.

"I think in matches like tonight where you have to fight through some adversity, the win is worth 10 times more."

Dodin is the youngest champion in the history of the Quebec City tournament. She entered the tournament No. 122 in the world, but will crack the Top 100 on the WTA rankings for the first time in her young career after earning 280 points.

The Czech duo of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka captured the doubles crown after defeating Russians Alexandra Panova and Alla Kudryavtseva 7-6 (2), 7-6 (2) in the final.
