Capitals sign D Alexeyev to two-year, $1.65M extension

The Washington Capitals have signed defenceman Alex Alexeyev to a two-year, $1.65-million deal, the club announced Tuesday.

The cap hit is $825,000. The deal pays Alexeyev $775,000 in 2023-24 and $875,000 in 2024-25.

Alexeyev, 23, recorded five assists in 32 games with Washington this season.

The Capitals selected Alexeyev with their first-round pick (31st overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft.
