Flames’ Pospisil to have hearing Wednesday for boarding Kraken’s Dunn

Watch as chaos ensues after Martin Pospisil delivers a hit to Vince Dunn from behind, forcing the Kraken defenceman to leave the ice and is issued a five-minute major.

Calgary Flames rookie Martin Pospisil will have a phone hearing Wednesday for his boarding hit on Seattle Kraken defenceman Vince Dunn during Monday’s game.

The hit occurred late in what ended as a 4-2 Kraken win. Dunn had his back turned to the play as he was collecting a pass behind the Seattle net when Pospisil hit him hard into the boards.

After a review, Pospisil was given a game misconduct for boarding and ejected. Dunn also did not return due to an injury and his status for Tuesday’s game against the Jets is unknown.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol called the hit “garbage.”

Pospisil has 16 points and 72 penalty minutes in 45 games this season.

The Flames are heading east for a road trip and next play Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Dunn, meanwhile, was out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game in Winnipeg against the Jets. The team says he’ll be further evaluated upon return to Seattle.
