Maple Leafs’ Domi, McMann not expected to play final two regular season games

Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirms that Bobby McMann and likely Max Domi will both be out for their final two regular season games, and then we'll see where they're both at status wise.

The Toronto Maple Leafs do not expect Max Domi or Bobby McMann to be able to play in their final two games of the regular season.

Domi was absent from practice Friday with an undisclosed injury but was good enough to be in the lineup Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. Domi was ruled out for Tuesday against the Florida Panthers and is unlikely to play Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 29-year-old has nine goals and 38 assists this season.

McMann left Saturday’s game against Detroit with a lower-body injury. McMann appeared to suffer his injury late in the first period when his legs got tangled up awkwardly with Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat.

McMann has been a pleasant addition to the Maple Leafs forward group this season, chipping in with 15 goals and nine assists in 55 games coming into Saturday’s action. The Wainwright, Alta., native had just one assist in 10 NHL games prior to this season.

Keefe also noted that forward Calle Jarnkrok is improving but they’re running out of games for him to get back before the playoffs and his status for Game 1 is uncertain. The forward was on the ice for part of practice and has not played since March 14 after crashing into the boards.

Joseph Woll will start for the Leafs Tuesday against the Panthers but Keefe did not announce who will play in the regular season finale against Tampa Bay.
