The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without superstar Auston Matthews for Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins due to an illness, the team announced.

An illness has been bothering the entire Maple Leafs roster over the past few days.

Matthews has six goals in his past nine games and leads the league with 23 goals this season.

Pontus Holmberg will draw into the lineup in place of Matthews.

The Maple Leafs will also be without defenceman T.J. Brodie who is battling an illness as well.
