Maple Leafs sign Philippe Myers to one-year, $775K deal

As part of a trio of signings, the Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to terms on a one-year, $775,000 contract with defenceman Philippe Myers, the team announced on Tuesday.

Myers, 27, made five appearances with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season but spent the majority of the 2023-24 campaign with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch. The six-foot-six, 220-pound defenceman logged 23 points (four goals, 19 assists) through 61 games. In

The Moncton, N.B., native was previously loaned to the Toronto Marlies by the Nashville Predators in 2021-22, making 16 appearances.

Through six seasons, Myers has taken the ice for an NHL team 158 times, recording 36 points (eight goals, 28 assists) during that span. He was originally signed by the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent in 2015.

The Maple Leafs also announced the signings of defenceman Dakota Mermis and forward Cédric Paré along with Myers.
