Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman William Lagesson was forced to leave Saturday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks with an upper-body injury and will not return, the team announced.

Lagesson saw just 1:31 of ice time before being forced to exit the game.

The 27-year-old defenceman has suited up in 25 games for Toronto this season and has registered three assists.

Lagesson was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL draft.

He has 10 assists in 85 NHL games with the Maple Leafs, Oilers and Montreal Canadiens.
