Monday Night Hockey in the NHL became grim very quickly as players made their way down the tunnel in droves, some not to return.

Tim Stützle, Ottawa Senators
Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stützle left Monday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks with an upper-body injury and will not return, per the team.
The youngster took a hard hit into the boards from Ducks forward Brett Leason, after which he would head straight to the team room with speed. Leason was assessed a two-minute minor for interference after the play
Cole Caufield, Montréal Canadiens
Montreal Canadiens youngster Cole Caufield exited Monday night’s contest against the Calgary Flames and will not return according to the team.
Caufield left the game after getting the worst of a big collision with Flames’ forward Trevor Lewis.
Chris Tanev, Calgary Flames
MONTREAL — Flames defenceman Chris Tanev has been cleared to travel back with the team to Calgary after taking a slap shot to the head in the second period against the Montreal Canadiens.
Tanev went to a local hospital after leaving the game to get tests done and would be re-evaluated on Tuesday.
During a 5-on-3 penalty kill, Tanev attempted to block a slap shot from Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki.
The shot hit Tanev in the head and the blue liner fell on the ice as the Bell Centre crowd fell silent as he was helped off the ice by teammates.
Although Montreal still possessed the puck, Canadiens right-winger Joel Armia asked the referees to whistle the play dead so Tanev could get medical assistance.
Nazem Kadri, Calgary Flames
Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri briefly left Monday’s game against the Montréal Canadiens after taking a hit to the head by Canadiens’ captain Nick Suzuki.
Kadri was able to skate off on his own, but entered concussion protocol. He returned for the start of the third period.
