Penguins announce successful surgeries for Letang, Ludvig, Nieto

Three members of the Pittsburgh Penguins underwent successful surgeries recently, the club announced on Wednesday.

Defenceman Kris Letang had surgery on his left hand for a fractured finger, while fellow rearguard John Ludvig had repairs done to the extensor tendon in his left wrist.

Forward Matt Nieto, meanwhile, had reconstructive MCL surgery on his left knee.

Letang’s recovery is expected to be eight weeks, while Ludvig and Nieto are facing four-to-six months and seven-month recoveries, respectively.
