The Milwaukee Bucks have received permission to interview Toronto Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Milwaukee’s head coaching job came available after the team announced the firing of Mike Budenholzer after a surprising Round 1 exit in the year’s NBA Playoffs.

The Bucks join a list of teams reportedly interested in Griffin for a head coaching position, as the Raptors assistant has already been linked to vacancies with both the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets.

Sportsnet’s Michael Grange also reported that the Raptors, who are also searching for a new head coach, are also considering Griffin.

Griffin has been an assistant for the Raptors since 2018, when former Toronto head coach Nick Nurse was hired. The former NBA player also has been an assistant for the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Nurse was fired by the Raptors after a disappointing 41-41 regular season and crashing out against the Bulls in the NBA’s play-in tournament.
