San Jose Sharks starting goaltender James Reimer is out week to week after suffering a lower-body injury against the Vegas Golden Knights, the team announced on Thursday.

Reimer left the game, a 3-1 loss, after the first period after starting 13 consecutive games for the Sharks. Rookie Zach Sawchenko stepped in as backup Adin Hill remains sidelined with a lower-body injury as well.

The 33-year-old Reimer posts a .916 save percentage and 2.84 goals-against average with one shutout this season in 34 games including 33 starts.

To replace two sidelined goaltenders, the Sharks acquired goalie Alex Stalock from the Edmonton Oilers. Stalock was originally drafted by the Sharks in the fourth round in 2005.

Stalock practised for the Sharks on Thursday after he was traded for future considerations, and has a 3-1-0 record in five appearances with Bakersfield in the AHL.
