Wizards fans will be holding out hope for their rookie guard.

Washington’s Carlton Carrington had to be wheeled back to his team’s locker room after suffering a scary head injury against the Knicks on Monday.

The injury occurred in the third quarter. He collided with teammate Jonas Valanciunas, fell backward and hit his head on a Knicks player’s knee. He stayed down for some time after the collision.

He eventually had to be helped up by his team’s medical staff into a wheelchair and was brought back to the locker room with a towel over his head.

Carrington, 19, had six points, five rebounds and five assists in 27 minutes before exiting.

The 14th overall pick from the 2024 draft has had a solid rookie season, averaging 9.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 29.8 minutes a night and has started 20 of 29 games for the Wizards this year.
